Lee was born and raised in Resolven, Neath, South Wales, and still lives in the village with his wife, Helyna and two young children, Gwen and Harri.
Lee made his first appearance on stage at the age of 8 with the Resolven Amateur Operatic Society - following in the footsteps of his parents and grandparents alike.
He first started having singing lessons at the age of 11 with the much missed and greatly gifted local soprano, Eleanor Harries.
He then went on to perform in countless shows and concerts taking leading roles in many Amateur and Semi-professional societies across Wales before continuing his studies at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, having already built up an impressive base of theatrical experience.
Since then, he has continued to take many leading musical and operatic roles, concerts, oratorio, and private engagements throughout the UK.
As well as a busy free-lance performer, Lee also has a successful private teaching practice - teaching singers of all ages and ability, many of whom have gone on to study and work throughout the UK and abroad.
He also owns and runs The South Wales Funeral Singers, a select group of professional singers and instrumentalists for hire across the UK.
Lee is also the Musical Director of the Black Mountain Voices (Formally The Black Mountain Chorus of Wales) and its female counterpart Black Mountain Rhiannon.
